The Journal of Design Service and Social Innovation (JDSSI) is an international, peer-reviewed scholarly journal dedicated to advancing research at the intersection of design, service innovation, and social transformation. 

Aims

JDSSI is committed to advancing high-quality theoretical and practical research that positions design as a strategic and systemic force to address complex societal challenges, promote sustainable development, and create social value oriented toward the public good.

Scope

JDSSI welcomes high-quality submissions on topics including, but not limited to, the following areas:

• Design theory, methodology, and practice
• Design for social innovation and public sector transformation
• Human-centered and participatory design in complex social systems
• Strategic design, design policy, and governance
• Sustainability, resilience, and design for systemic societal impact
• Co-design, community engagement, and inclusive innovation
• Digital service design and emerging technologies
• Design research methodologies and epistemological foundations
• Cultural, ethical, and contextual dimensions of design

Submission Criteria

Submissions to JDSSI should:

• Present original and unpublished research
• Demonstrate clear research questions and methodological rigor
• Contribute to international scholarly discourse

• No AI-Generated Manuscripts or Figures

JDSSI does not consider purely descriptive manuscripts, lacks analytical depth, or falls outside the defined scope.

JDSSI positions itself as a platform for scholarly inquiry rather than professional reporting, with a strong emphasis on research-driven design knowledge production. The journal seeks to bridge theory and practice by fostering critical dialogue across disciplines and geographic regions.
