Business Model Statement and Price Policy
JDSSI Price Policy
Price Policy and Open Access Statement
At the current stage of development, JAUD does not charge an Article Processing Charge (APC) for manuscript submission, processing, or online publication. Authors are not required to pay any fees related to page count, number of figures, or manuscript length.
Sustainability and Funding
JAUD is currently supported by Michelangelo Scholar Publishing Limited( MSPL), which covers the costs associated with editorial management, peer review, typesetting, digital publication, DOI registration, and long-term archiving.
This publisher-supported model (Diamond Open Access) enables JAUD to reduce financial barriers for authors while maintaining rigorous academic standards. The journal is committed to ensuring the long-term sustainability and stability of its publishing operations.
As part of its future development strategy, JAUD may introduce a transparent APC model or institutional funding mechanisms. Any changes to the pricing policy will be clearly communicated on the journal website in advance and will not affect manuscripts already under review or accepted for publication.
Commitment to Accessibility
By eliminating all author-side charges, JAUD aims to make scholarly publishing accessible to researchers from all backgrounds, institutional contexts, and regions. This approach particularly supports early-career researchers and scholars from institutions with limited funding resources.
This policy aligns with the journal’s commitment to open access and its mission to promote the global exchange of knowledge in architecture and urban design.
Conference-Related Submissions
JAUD may consider peer-reviewed papers from affiliated academic conferences, submitted by registered participants.
All such submissions are:
- Subject to the journal’s independent editorial screening
- Evaluated through the same rigorous double-blind peer-review process as regular submissions
- Assessed solely on academic quality and relevance to the journal’s scope
Conference participation or registration does not guarantee publication.
Transparency and Compliance
JAUD is committed to transparency in its publishing practices and complies with international standards, including those of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
Key principles include:
- Clear disclosure of all fees and funding sources
- No hidden charges for authors or readers
- Equal treatment of all submissions regardless of financial status
Editorial Independence
JAUD maintains strict editorial independence from financial considerations.
- Submission, peer review, and editorial decisions are based solely on academic merit
- No fees are charged at any stage that would influence acceptance decisions
- Optional editorial or language services, if provided, are clearly separated from the peer-review process
