Open Access Policy
The Journal of Ancient Chinese Arts and Crafts (JACAC) is a Gold Open Access journal. All articles published in JACAC are freely and immediately available online to all readers worldwide, without any subscription, registration, or pay-per-view requirements.
Principles
JACAC is committed to the principle that free, immediate, and unrestricted access to peer-reviewed research maximizes the dissemination and impact of scholarly work. Open access supports the global exchange of knowledge, promotes equitable participation in scholarly discourse, and enables researchers, students, educators, and the public to benefit fully from published research.
Author Rights
Copyright for each article published in JACAC is retained by its author(s). By submitting a manuscript to the journal, authors grant MSPL a non-exclusive license to publish the article under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 International License (CC BY-NC-ND 4.0). Authors retain the right to:
- Share and distribute their published article for non-commercial purposes.
- Post the published version on personal or institutional websites and repositories.
- Use their published work in future research, teaching, and presentations.
Reader Rights
Under the CC BY-NC-ND 4.0 license, readers may freely read, download, copy, and distribute published articles for non-commercial purposes, provided that appropriate credit is given to the author(s) and the original publication in JACAC, and that no modifications are made to the content.
No Fees
JACAC does not charge any submission fee, article processing charge (APC), publication fee, page charge, or color charge. The journal is fully funded through project grants and academic service activities led by MSPL, creating a stable financial base independent of author fees or subscriptions.
JACAC’s open-access policy aligns with the Budapest Open Access Initiative (BOAI), the Berlin Declaration on Open Access to Knowledge in the Sciences and Humanities, and the Bethesda Statement on Open Access Publishing.
