Archiving Policy
The Journal of Ancient Chinese Arts and Crafts (JACAC) is committed to the long-term preservation and accessibility of all published scholarly content. The journal recognizes that digital preservation is essential for maintaining the integrity of the scholarly record and ensuring that research remains available to future generations of scholars and readers.
Digital Preservation Strategy
JACAC employs multiple strategies to ensure the long-term preservation of published content:
- Publisher Archiving: MSPL maintains secure, redundant digital archives of all published content, including full-text articles, metadata, and supplementary materials.
- Third-Party Archiving: The journal actively pursues partnerships with established digital preservation services, including CLOCKSS, LOCKSS, Portico, and national library systems, to ensure independent, distributed preservation of journal content.
- Institutional Repositories: Authors are permitted and encouraged to deposit their published articles in institutional or subject-specific repositories in accordance with the journal’s open-access and licensing policies.
Metadata Preservation
All article metadata (titles, authors, abstracts, keywords, DOIs, and citation information) is registered with Crossref and maintained in compliance with international metadata standards to ensure long-term discoverability and citation integrity.
Access Continuity
In the event that JACAC ceases publication, MSPL will ensure that all published content remains accessible through third-party preservation services and will provide appropriate notice to authors, subscribers, and the scholarly community.
Author Self-Archiving
Under the CC BY-NC-ND 4.0 license, authors may self-archive the published version of their articles on personal websites, institutional repositories, and preprint servers, provided that proper attribution is given and the terms of the license are observed.
