JACAC is a scholarly platform dedicated to promoting the study, preservation, and global dissemination of ancient Chinese arts and crafts, encompassing painting, sculpture, calligraphy, ceramics, jade carving, bronze work, textiles, lacquerware, architectural ornamentation, and related artistic traditions. The journal spans from the Neolithic period through the Qing Dynasty, examining the material, aesthetic, philosophical, and socio-cultural dimensions of China’s artistic heritage.
The primary mission of JACAC is to advance scholarly understanding of ancient Chinese artistic and artisanal traditions by sharing original research on culture, thought, theory, and technique. The journal seeks to disseminate knowledge of China’s artistic achievements, promote the study of ancient culture through rigorous academic inquiry, and serve as a leading platform in the field.
JACAC operates under a Gold Open Access model. No Article Processing Charge (APC) is required.
