Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Privacy Statement

Design History (DH), published by Michelangelo Scholar Publishing Ltd(MSPL), is committed to protecting the privacy and personal data of all individuals who interact with the journal.

1. Purpose of Data Collection

  • Editorial Management: Processing submissions through peer review, revision, and publication.
  • Communication: Correspondence between authors, editors, reviewers, and staff.
  • Identity Verification: Verifying author identities and affiliations.
  • Service Improvement: Analyzing usage patterns to enhance the platform.

2. How We Collect Data

  • Registration: Name, email, affiliation, credentials, ORCID.
  • Manuscript Submission: Manuscript files, metadata, author details, and funding declarations.
  • Editorial Communications: Decision letters, reviewer comments, author responses.
  • Automated Collection: Cookies, log files, analytics (IP addresses, browser types, navigation).
  • Surveys: Voluntary feedback forms.
  • Professional Relationships: Reviewer and editorial board engagement.

3. Data Use and Sharing

Data is not sold, rented, or traded. It may be shared with editorial board members and reviewers (under confidentiality), the publisher for technical support, service providers under contract, and legal authorities if required.

4. Data Retention

Published manuscript data is permanently retained. Rejected/withdrawn manuscript data is retained for a reasonable period then deleted. Account data is retained while active.

5. Data Security

We implement encryption, access controls, security audits, and staff training to protect personal data.

6. Your Rights

Under GDPR and CCPA, you may access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to processing of your data, and withdraw consent at any time.

7. Cookies

Our website uses cookies to improve the experience. Browser settings may be adjusted to refuse cookies.

8. Changes

This Privacy Statement may be updated periodically. The latest version is always available on the journal website.
